What is SAME?

SAME stands for Support, Advocacy, and Migration Experts.

Your experiences with LGBTIQA+ migration and displacement make you an expert. This group brings together people like you to ensure inclusivity, representation, and meaningful change.

By joining, you’ll help advise FDPN on important issues affecting LGBTIQA+ displaced people and co-design projects with us. Your experience will directly shape our projects.

We will pay you a set fee for every meeting you attend or any written comments you provide.

Who can join?

  • If you are an LGBTIQA+ person from a non-western country and have an experience of migration or asylum, the SAME is for you.
  • You don’t need prior experience to join. Your lived experience and willingness to contribute are what matter most.
  • You will receive training to understand how to contribute.

Why Join?

  • Make a Difference: Help shape the future of support for LGBTIQA+ displaced people.
  • Be Heard: Ensure your unique challenges and needs are addressed.
  • Learn and Grow: Gain insights into advocacy and enhance your skills.
  • Connect: Meet and collaborate with like-minded individuals.

What will you do?

SAME offers you an opportunity to contribute and also learn new skills.

Share

Your lived experience is your expertise. You will participate in consultations or groups where you are asked to share your experiences on specific issues, such as homelessness or how services can be improved.

Collaborate

We meet with the SAME every 6-8 weeks online via Teams to ask your thoughts and advice on a range of projects.

We work on various projects, and you can participate in different ways.

You may provide comments on the content of trainings or resources that we develop.

Influence

Your voice influences the work we do! You become an integral part of FDPN.
